Even if it’s not specified in the title, this is actually a soundtrack for Scattini’s 1977 movie “Blue Nude”. LP edition.

Many words were spent on the long and fruitful collaboration between Piero Umiliani and the director Luigi Scattini: new light has been shed recently on some of their works, in lieu of the reissue of soundtracks such as “Angeli bianchi… angeli neri”, “Questo sporco mondo meraviglioso” along with “La ragazza fuoristrada”, “Il corpo” and “La ragazza dalla pelle di luna” (the famous trilogy starring Zeudi Araya as a main character).

In 1977 Scattini, a world famous Mondo Movie author, directed “Blue Nude”, one of his masterpieces: shot in New York, the movie falls between fiction and documentary, and investigates the world of hardcore pornography (Rocco Spinone, the main character, is an Italian porn actor). The movie is raw and uncompromising as demanded by the script, and anticipates Paul Schrader’s more popular “Hardcore” by a couple of years. “Blue Nude” relied on Piero Umiliani’s expert hands for its soundtrack. The Maestro decided to return to his jazz roots and composed fifteen tracks, recorded with some of the best Italian musicians of the time: Cicci Santucci, Sam Genovese, Roberto Scoppa, Enrico Pieranunzi, Franco D’Andrea, Bruno Tommaso, Gegè Munari, Carlo Coppotelli and Antonello Vannucchi.

Unexpectedly, the soundtrack wasn’t released simultaneously with the movie and the music ended up being used by Umiliani one year after in an unusual music library LP, released in 300 copies under the moniker of ‘Rovi’ and titled “Due temi con variazioni” (Two themes with variations). The two themes are ‘Blue’ and ‘Easy’, and gave name to all the compositions. The soundtrack had been eventually released on CD in 2014 by the Rome-based label Beat Records, while now we can finally get our hands on the Sound Work Shop LP thanks to this reissue, destined to all those who love scores such as “I soliti sospetti” and Umiliani’s jazz works.

“Musiche per un Telefilm” è il secondo titolo nella serie di ristampe in vinile Redi: pubblicato originariamente nel 1970 su etichetta Leo Records, è un capolavoro sonoro di 19 tracce per 19 differenti temi musicali, un’immersione totalizzante che immerge l’ascoltatore in atmosfere sia angoscianti e piene di tensione che divertenti e rilassanti, come a trascinarlo al centro del proprio telefilm immaginario personale!
Antonio Riccardo Luciani, compositore e tastierista, è stato uno degli autori più prolifici nel panorama italiano televisivo e di colonne sonore. La sua “Chanson Balladée”, scritta nel 1976 è stata il motivo de “L’Almanacco del Giorno” (RAI) per 15 anni. E’ ricordato per “Tecnica di un Colpo di Stato” (1978).
Paolo Renosto, compositore, conduttore, lirico e pianista, ha composto nella sua carriera library music sotto lo pseudonimo di Lesiman. Ne è stato uno dei precursori e dei migliori interpreti.

Historical jazz-funk Italian library music release – 2nd volume, LP+CD edition.

“Music especially created for films, television, radio, publicity and industrial use”. The disclaimer coming with these two records – Here And Now 1 & 2 – puts a smile on our lips and brings us back to more culturally innocent and naive times. A quick listen is enough to realize that this is top quality material (even if often hidden behind weird and mysterious titles), which can’t be compared to anything released in recent times.

Paolo Renosto, the musician behind the moniker Lesiman and the author of these two albums, was a composer, an experimenter, a music teacher and a piano player – an artist with the amazing skill of mixing together pop(ular) atmospheres and well read quotes. Renosto (1935-1988) studied with Luigi Dallapiccola and Bruno Maderna; he also was a member of the Associazione Nuova Consonanza of Roma. He obviously joined, for some time, the renowned Gruppo d’Improvvisazione, with Franco Evangelisti and Domenico Guaccero.

When he started collaborating with RAI, he began working in the field of sound dubbing – which he contributed to radically change, mixing different influences such as jazz and orchestral music to create music for tv shows. His long artistic career developed around many partnerships, following different paths, always in complete freedom: Renosto worked for theatre, but also wrote – with his friend and colleague Ennio Morricone – wonderful movie soundtracks. Like the one used for the cult horror movie “Un angelo per Satana” (directed by Camillo Mastrocinque in 1966) or that of “Irene, Irene” (directed by Peter Del Monte); but he also worked – almost anonymously – on many western and ‘poliziotteschi’ movies.

Then, and we’re talking about the two amazing albums you’re holding in your hands right now, Renosto/Lesiman created many high profile sound dubbings which are now very rare collector items. Besides the “Here And Now” series, devoted to funk and criminal-jazz, Lesiman recorded other gems deserving to be rediscovered, like “High Tension” (another series) for the iconic Vedette label.

It’s hard to choose one of these two reissued volumes: they create some kind of unique body of work and they’re best enjoyed as a whole. In volume one you can find one of the most famous tracks of his career in sound dubbing – the hypnotic and contemporary sounding “Moto centripeto” – but also other brilliant compositions such as “Bagliori”, “Via nell’autunno”, “Le regole del gioco” and “Segni cromatici”.

The second volume, on the other hand, features the famous “Plycar” – which was sampled by rapper Fabri Fibra – with its swing and lounge mood; but also “Permanenza”, “Controcorrente”, “Ciclo interrotto” and “Cristalli”.

Incredible funk-rock driven library music by legendary Sandro Brugnolini and Stefano Torossi. LP+CD reissue.

“Musica per commenti sonori” is a cult series within the diverse world of Italian library music. In the late sixties and seventies, the small record label Costanza Records has published several releases precisely focusing on ‘background music’, including works of great composers such as Peppino De Luca, Roberto Pregadio, Franco Micalizzi, Vito Thomas, Giancarlo Thomas Puccio Roelens, Riccardo Luciani, and by the protagonists of this long-time due reissue: Sandro Brugnolini and Stefano Torossi.

The two musicians, who had also worked together on the masterpiece “Feelings” (1974), have often collaborated and delivered some of the best Italian library music of all time. “Musica per commenti sonori” is certainly one of the most interesting. On the two equally split sides of this LP, the first for Torossi and the second for Brugnolini (but it seems that this partition was exclusively dictated by legal demands), there are twelve amazing tracks that will excite lovers of the wildest funk, producers in search of rare breaks, and those with a penchant for the psycho-beat atmospheres of the sixties.

Among the most heated tracks featured on Torossi’s side, we can’t pass over the amazing “Sweet-Beat”, “Interrupted” (perhaps the best track of the album) and “Repetition” while “Polyphony”, “Motuproprio” and the closing track “Flyer” shine on Brugnolini’s. Virtually impossible to find, even at astonishing prices, this reissue puts back into the market one of the best examples of ‘The Italian Art of Library Music’: a genre worldwide envied and collected.

Funk tunes driven by experimental electronic music, with a dramatic feeling! LP+CD edition.

A mind-melting opera. Some of the tracks here simply anticipate Techno and generally Electronic music of the early 70s. While Kraftwerk released “Ralph & Florian”, and about one year before the releasing of the milestone “Autobahn”, maestros Sandro Brugnolini and Giorgio Carnini were already experimenting the deep sounds of analogue synthesizer ARP 2600.

The set provides some blending Funk tunes driven by Experimental Electronic music, all with a heavy dramatic feel: the result is an unbelievable, unique and explosive library music LP. “Beat Drammatico Underground Pop Elettronico” is the title that Brugnolini and Carnini adopted for this collection of several TV synchronization themes. What we had is stunning Drama Cop scores and dark Electronic moods, all surrounded by loads of fuzzy vibes and all that weird, Industrial, Futuristic Synth FX and so on…

This reissue gives back a long forgotten and obscure session originally released on Fonit label in 1973.

This session was recorded in 1973 in a very small studio called “Axon” in the centre of Rome, which was well equipped with unusual electronic instruments and headed by Ogando – a skilled sound engineer with great musical taste.

These tracks are a rare example of how some protagonists already experimented with the use of avant-garde electronic instruments in “commercial” music production in a period when, from The Beatles and The Rolling Stones to the rock music explosion, they were completely replaced by electric guitars. At that time, these sounds were considered eccentric by most of the critics and the public. My background was in jazz music and I was working as a composer of movie and TV soundtrack. Along with the pianist-organist and classical musician Giorgio Carnini, we decided to take a risk and release our library music merging acoustic sounds and modern vibes.

We did it while experimenting with the sounds of the fabulous ARP 2600 synthesizer – maybe that was the first time it had been used in Italy for commercial purpose. It was the main rival of the more famous Moog, the instrument behind great music of those days.

We delivered part of this library to Fonit, the centre of Rai TV music production of the time, for the Usignolo editions. As Brugnolini-Carnini, we recorded two albums of library music with over 20 tracks each. One of these, the one including the more dramatic tunes, was released as “Fonit Usignolo 7010”: a record we both agree, is being wisely appreciated again, now after over 40 years its original release. The remaining tracks were released under our monikers Narassa and Zanagoria.

For the sake of cohesion, the tracks I wrote appeared on the A-side, and Giorgio’s ones on the flip.

Those were amazing years. We were excited to experiment new sounds and had extraordinary instruments at our disposal. In a first moment, synthesizers didn’t allow polyphony, and we worked hard just to connect the various modules, generators, and filters. Sometimes it was necessary to cut several tiny pieces of tape and paste them together to obtain a few seconds sequences: a lot of work, but what a bliss! What a genuine sound!

I remember one track we called “Bradenbourg Generator”: a sort of bold electronic concerto where I had to play, one by one, all the symphonic parts in following takes and then try to synchronize them with the other tracks. Needless to say, hours of work!

Nowadays everything is simpler: polyphonic instruments, computers, and every kind of automation. However, we’re talking about limited systems, even though they may seem perfect. All sounds are available on digital sound banks, you just need to choose them.

It’s a kind of a default stock of sounds, so it’s hard to find some novelty and creativity. Nostalgia? No, I think this is a rather pragmatic judgment – it was a different age, with a different semantic field, we could explain the difference through the analog versus digital opposition.

The same old story: progress often implicates some sacrifices…

“L’uomo dagli occhiali a specchio” un film thriller del 1975 in due parti diretto per la Rai da Mariano Foglietti, già collaboratore di Dario Argento in “Quattro mosche di velluto grigio”.

Le musiche composte da Sandro Brugnolini per l’occasione sono eccezionali e nelle 14 tracce della colonna sonora è possibile ritrovare tutti i tipici ingredienti di uno score anni ’70: una sublime fusione tra rock, pop, jazz, musica classica e sinfonica, con sprazzi di urban funk presi in prestito alla blaxploitation. Il gusto e l’abilità di Brugnolini nel trattare questi generi musicali lasciano sbalorditi ancora oggi, e sono ancor più evidenti nelle quattro versioni del tema principale “La notte muore” presenti in questo disco.

Pubblicata originariamente su etichetta Vroommm Records di Edizioni Leonardi in un LP oggi rarissimo e preziosissimo, questa colonna sonora è ristampata in esclusiva da Redi Edizioni in vinile trasparente in occasione del Record Store Day 2022. Imperdibile!

“Itinerario Beat” è un titolo tanto intrigante quanto misterioso: suonato da un complesso di musicisti sconosciuti denominato The Blue Sharks, già all’opera nell’eccellente “It Became Crystal” (ristampato da Redi Edizioni nel 2021, Cat. No. REDILP001), consiste di dieci composizioni easy-listening strumentali per basso, batteria, pianoforte e hammond, arrangiate e suonate con un gusto unico, tra beat, jazz-funk e pop sinfonico. Ufficialmente le musiche sono opera di Rigol, pseudonimo del compositore Duilio Radici, ma non accreditato risulta anche Ugo Fusco, autore di diversi LP di sonorizzazioni editi da Edizioni Leonardi.

Oltre ad essere utilizzati in ambiti televisivi, i brani di library music sono ricercati di musicisti e DJ famosi e oggetto di campionamento sonoro: è il caso di “Itinerario romantico”, incluso in questo LP, che è stato campionato dal rapper Travis Scott nel brano “90210” del 2016!

La serie di ristampe in vinile Redi comincia con una vera e propria pietra miliare del genere library, scritta dai maestri Giorgio Zinzi (sotto lo pseudonimo di “Ipcress” nei crediti del disco) e Carmelo Carucci, i quali nel 1972 coinvolgono il compositore e musicista Stelvio Cipriani e a nome Blue Sharks realizzano un perfetto mix di rock, funk, soul ed elementi più accostabili alle loro composizioni più classiche nell’ambito delle colonne sonore. L’apporto del sintetizzatore Moog contribuisce ulteriormente a rendere questo album unico nel suo genere e coinvolgente dalla prima all’ultima nota. Un classico intramontabile!

Rare Italian music library reissued for the first time on black vinyl.

Sul finire degli anni ’60 in ambito musicale in Italia – ma anche all’estero, specialmente in Francia e Inghilterra – cominciò a diffondersi un filone molto particolare, quello noto come ‘Library music’ o delle ‘sonorizzazioni’: come suggerito da tali espressioni, si trattava di biblioteche musicali destinate all’accompagnamento di produzioni audiovisive come programmi televisivi, pubblicità, documentari e film. Trattandosi di opere realizzate in totale libertà artistica, sono spesso difficili se non impossibili da catalogare, in quanto non ancorate a uno specifico genere musicale; tale libertà inoltre permise agli autori di comporre, talvolta nel più completo anonimato, musiche sperimentali e avanguardistiche, capaci anche di anticipare delle sonorità che solo molti anni dopo sarebbero state diffuse su larga scala.

Daniela Casa (1944 – 1986) è stata cantante e compositrice, moglie di un altro artista attivo nel campo della library music, Remigio Ducros, autore di “America Giovane”, LP che precede idealmente questo secondo capitolo. Pubblicato originariamente nel 1975, è oggi – come praticamente l’intero catalogo delle Edizioni Leonardi – rarissimo e tra i più ricercati dai collezionisti. Musicalmente, condivide con il citato “America Giovane” una notevole varietà stilistica: si passa dal folk alla psichedelia, dal funk al r&b, ma a differenza dell’album composto dal marito, su questo disco permane un’aura jazz più o meno evidente in tutti i brani (“Fix” e “Soft Bird” sono praticamente due brevi escursioni free-jazz!), che contribuisce a renderlo ancor più interessante e unico.

“America Giovane N. 2” è parte di una serie di ristampe, realizzate in collaborazione con Edizioni Leonardi di Milano, di rarissimi LP di sonorizzazioni pubblicati tra la fine degli anni ’60 e i primi anni ’70 e in larga parte mai ristampati fino ad oggi e che finalmente tornano disponibili per collezionisti e appassionati di library music.

Prima ristampa di sempre in vinile nero.

Exclusive reissue of an Italian library music cult release by legendary Remigio Ducros.

Trattandosi di opere realizzate in totale libertà artistica, sono spesso difficili se non impossibili da catalogare, in quanto non ancorate a uno specifico genere musicale; tale libertà inoltre permise agli autori di comporre, talvolta nel più completo anonimato, musiche sperimentali e avanguardistiche, capaci anche di anticipare delle sonorità che solo molti anni dopo sarebbero state diffuse su larga scala.

Remigio Ducros, pianista e compositore, autore complessivamente di una ventina di LP di library music, realizza con “America Giovane” un compendio eterogeneo di generi musicali provenienti dagli Stati Uniti, tipica colonna sonora dei raduni hippy a cavallo tra anni ’60 e ’70. Country (Country Feeling, On the West Road), funk (Black Not Coloured), blues (Ride On, Village Blues, State of Harlem), soul/r&b (Black Congregation), southern rock (Rock – H), prog con venature psichedeliche (The New Phylosophy), hard rock (Hendrix Memento, Campus Sit In), a cui si aggiungono tre brani per sola armonica (Week-end Down Town, Sunday in Central Park) e flauto (Lonesome Voice).

“America Giovane” è parte di una serie di ristampe, realizzate in collaborazione con Edizioni Leonardi di Milano, di rarissimi LP di sonorizzazioni pubblicati tra la fine degli anni ’60 e i primi anni ’70 e in larga parte mai ristampati fino ad oggi e che finalmente tornano disponibili per collezionisti e appassionati di library music.

Obscure Italian library music cult release – exclusive LP reissue!

Sul finire degli anni ’60 in ambito musicale in Italia – ma anche all’estero, specialmente in Francia e Inghilterra – cominciò a diffondersi un filone molto particolare, quello noto come ‘Library music’ o delle ‘sonorizzazioni’: come suggerito da tali espressioni, si trattava di biblioteche musicali destinate all’accompagnamento di produzioni audiovisive come programmi televisivi, pubblicità, documentari e film. Trattandosi di opere realizzate in totale libertà artistica, sono spesso difficili se non impossibili da catalogare, in quanto non ancorate a uno specifico genere musicale; tale libertà inoltre permise agli autori di comporre, talvolta nel più completo anonimato, musiche sperimentali e avanguardistiche, capaci anche di anticipare delle sonorità che solo molti anni dopo sarebbero state diffuse su larga scala.

“Naja” è uno ‘slang’ del tutto italiano, sinonimo dell’espressione ‘servizio militare’ o ‘leva’, periodo in cui giovani ragazzi non ancora ventenni venivano addestrati per diventare soldati. Ci si aspetterebbe quindi un album dalle atmosfere lugubri, associate alla guerra a cui erano destinati alcuni di quei giovani militari, e invece “Tempo di Naja” è un disco solare, talvolta allegro come nella ‘fischiettata’ “Marcia Longa” o in “Fanfara in festa”; come indicato dai titoli dei brani, infatti, la musica è ispirata a situazioni tipiche del servizio di leva ancora molto distanti dal contesto bellico vero e proprio: “Discoteca”, “Libera uscita”, “Montagna”, “Pedalata”, “Femmine” sono solo alcuni esempi. Ma su tutti spicca “Sgambata”, jazz-funk dal groove micidiale che non sfigurerebbe nella colonna sonora di un film poliziesco di quei primi anni ’70!

“Tempo di Naja” è parte di una serie di ristampe, realizzate in collaborazione con Edizioni Leonardi di Milano, di rarissimi LP di sonorizzazioni pubblicati tra la fine degli anni ’60 e i primi anni ’70 e in larga parte mai ristampati fino ad oggi e che finalmente tornano disponibili per collezionisti e appassionati di library music.

Prima ristampa di sempre in vinile nero.

Esoteric-tinged experimental Italian library music release. LP+CD reissue.

Given his fascination with obscure and esoteric topics, an interest that lasted throughout his whole career as a composer of library music, Fabio Fabor must have been diabolic and mysterious for real. The Milan-born composer, who passed away in 2011, had always showcased a darker side compared to other fellow musicians of his era. A side that is well portrayed in works like the famous masterpiece “Pape Satan”, or “Satanas”, which is included in the very accessible “B 81” (Serie Usignolo) or in this splendid and experimental “Mr. Diabolicus – Mr. Mysterious”. This is still a library music release, but it is kind of difficult to imagine TV or radio shows accompanied by tracks like “Neutroni”, “Mr. Mysterious”, “Fucina diabolica” or “Idillio Cosmico”.

We have nonetheless to acknowledge that in 1973 (the year this gem was released), Italian TV was often surprising the audience with innovative shows, likely to host music such as Fabor’s compositions – however, listening again to these 14 short compositions is still an extraordinary experience if we consider their impact and influence on contemporary music and on hip labels of our days like Ghost Box. “Sea Melody” e “Mare di ghiaccio” could have been taken from aquatic/biological-themed releases like “Ittiologia” o “Biologia Marina”, but the whole album quality is impressive. Along with “Pape Satan”, this is probably the best Fabio Fabor ever.

Absolute music composed for keys which sound is processed in order to obtain particular effects, timbre and soundscape.

There would not be other words needed to describe “Dramatest”, a release of experimental library music published in 1974 by Fonovideo and signed by Oscar Rocchi (and his moniker Chiarosi) and Fabio Fabor. Rocchi, an excellent pianist and composer, had worked with heavy weights of Italian jazz such as Dino Piana e Oscar Valdambrini (on their amazing album Afrodite) while developing a career as author of library music. Some of his works had been recently reissued, like “Erbe selvatiche” and “Pop Paraphrenia”… others are yet to be re-discovered, for instance the two volumes of “Stressorama”, co-written with Barigozzi and Fabor. Of the latter, we had been able to appreciate works like “Pape Satan”, “Infini” (with Armando Sciascia) or beautiful library music releases like “Aquarium”.

“Dramatest” is the encounter of these two great musicians, 14 explorations of the electronic spectrum, casting pure experimentalism, melody and no fillers whatsoever. A subtle eccentricity permeates this work (as often happened with this genre) reaching a whole new level with its titles names: there is no other way to classify titles such as “Toccata 2000”, “Agopuntura”, “Ostinadanza”, “Industrial shok” (sic), “Nero sud” and “Tastodrama”. A further element that contributes in making “Dramatest” one of the best examples of the lost art of Italian libraries.

Beautiful Italian orchestral pop library music release from the Usignolo catalogue. LP+CD edition.

Although library music has always had the purpose of accompanying TV and radio shows, documentaries and TV news, it is difficult to track down most of these masterpieces composed by some of the greatest composers of those years. Anonymity is one of the distinctive traits of this music genre, being in most cases difficult, if not impossible, to find out where these tracks had been used. The liner notes of these works often spark the reader’s curiosity: the notes are in fact detailed descriptions of the instruments used and the atmospheres the music aimed to reproduce. Fonit’s “B 85”, part of the legendary Serie Usignolo, which bears the signatures of the mysterious Coscia (perhaps a moniker of accordionist Gianni?) and Formini, makes no difference in that sense.

It is absolutely brilliant to read how these tracks are highly recommended to accompany ‘viewings of vast parks, footage of agriculture, ads, moving crowds and congested traffic jams, American working-class districts’ with hilarious titles such as “Dayda”, “Schizzo”, “Palmas”, “Murlak” (which casts an incredible fuzz guitar), “Bronx” and “Ciresa Facaud” (the latter a probable homage to Piedmont’s dialect that potentially translates in “Cherry, it’s hot!”). The music can be labelled as ‘orchestral pop’, to use terms that made Italian Library music worldwide famous. No hints of ‘country’ as the title seemed to suggest…

Due to an overwhelming number of reissues and to the steady and meticulous work of collectors and passionate music lovers who have been spreading the word about it, the realm of Italian library music has moved from being some kind of hidden cult to becoming a well defined niche. Authors such as Alessandroni, Umiliani, Sciascia, Tommasi and Sorgini have become more accessible to the uninitiated, while prices of the original presses of their records keep surging.

Among the multitude of composers that wrote library music in their careers, Fabio Fabor is still surrounded by an aura of mystery. Born in Milan in 1920, Fabio Borgazzi (this was his real name) was a composer and musician who wrote mostly operas, symphonies and chamber music. Lingering between his love for the classic canon and pop and electronic experimentalisms, Fabor developed a parallel career as author of Italian pop music (his songs had been interpreted by popular singers as Fred Buscaglione, Nilla Pizzi e Nicola Arigliano at the renowned Festival di Sanremo) and – more interestingly for us – as a composer of experimental and electronic library music. Among the numerous releases he left, “B 81” and “B 82”, Ballabili “Anni 70” (Underground) are worth remembering: both published by the legendary Serie Usignolo, a sub-label of Fonit, these titles are available again now thanks to Schema Records.

“B 81” and “B 82”, both released in 1970, are library music in its most traditional meaning: short tracks aiming to accompany radio and TV shows, orchestral Pop à la Bacharach, space age pop, hints of bossa and beat from the previous decade. If we take for good the description of “Paradiso Hippy”, one of the tracks on the record, the release is a ‘moderato pop, melodic, effectively nostalgic but vibrant’. Enjoy!

A new way of making music through the use of the electronic synthesizer in 1971, with occasional interventions by the spinet and the Hammond organ – LP+CD edition.

“Synthi Time” is perhaps one of the most suitable albums – within Umiliani’s incredibly vast discography – to fully appreciate the composing and experimental genius of the Maestro. For once away from the classic soundtracks that made him popular, this project veers away also from refined works of library music such as “Genti e paesi del mondo” (People and countries of the world) or “Problemi d’oggi” (Today’s issues), released under the moniker of Zalla. In this case, we like to imagine him absorbed in his Sound Work Shop studio, experimenting with synthesizers with the same enthusiasm of a newbie in search of the perfect sound. Without renouncing to pop(ular) elements, Umiliani seems almost to anticipate (or at least to be fully consistent with) the sound research that will characterize the careers of musicians such as Roedelius and Moebius in Germany.

As the same subtitle reveals, this was ‘a new way of making music’ through the use of the electronic synthesizer – this happening in 1971 – with occasional interventions by the spinet and the Hammond organ. And, with the exception of other little masterpieces such as “Il mondo dei Romani and Tra scienza e fantascienza”, the most ‘avant-garde’ Umiliani can be found here, among tracks such as “Synthi grottesco”, the outstanding “Synthetic Water”, “Synthi pianola” and “Synthi pastorale”, excellent examples of a Maestro exploring new sounds and the future of the music. Often forgotten and overlooked even by those self-proclaimed Umiliani lovers and fans, “Synthi Time” is actually one of his best works.
